Now We Do Shellac

I was recently invited to participate in Now We Do Shellac, an art exhibition celebrating the creative potential of nail art. Several artists and designers were asked to decorate a set of acrylic nails, so I designed two types of Pipe Dreams style 'Nails on Nails':

There were lots of other great nail specimens at opening night - you can see more photos care of the Sassoon Gallery here. It's open until September 11th.

Vogue Experience at Harvey Nick's

Last week I attended the Vogue Experience at Harvey Nichols. Franca Sozzani, the editor of Vogue Italia, along with many other British fashion designers, were on hand to give young designers and photographers advice on their portfolios and collections.

The queues were massive - despite having an appointment, we all had to wait for hours for an audience with the fashion gods.

(O hai Giles!)
Finally my time came. Though I'd wanted to speak to Franca or Christopher Kane, I ended up being paired with 'accessories mentor', milliner Philip Treacy. Philip was lovely and said my jewellery was fantastic. I saw him down not one glass of champagne so I'm not sure if he's to be trusted, but he took my number and said he'd call me for a tea date. (I'm still waiting.)
